From September 13 to 14, the academic seminar on "Ethics Research and Zhejiang Practice in the Artificial Intelligence Era" and the 2025 annual meeting of the Zhejiang Ethics Society were held in Wenzhou. Huang Huo pointed out that artificial intelligence technology is reshaping the world at an unprecedented speed and scale. The rapid development of AI poses severe challenges to ethics, and also provides opportunities for reconstructing ethical theories and innovating research methods, and injecting new vitality and mission into ethical research. He emphasized that the Zhejiang Provincial Ethics Society should strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue, promote in-depth cooperation between ethics scholars and technical experts, policy makers, and the business community, and jointly build ethical standards that conform to technical laws and human needs; focus on "Zhejiang Practice", combine the province's digital reform and scientific and technological innovation frontiers, carry out targeted research, and provide ethical support and decision-making reference for provincial governance; we should be committed to the popularization and dissemination of ethical knowledge, enhance the public's ethical awareness, and create a social atmosphere of technology-for-goodness. Huang Huo mentioned that ethics in the era of artificial intelligence is no longer an isolated discipline, but a common cause related to the future of mankind. In his speech, Lu Yijun welcomed all the experts and scholars attending the meeting, and he briefly introduced the development of Wenzhou Medical University. In his special speech on "The Wind Rises and Tides in the East China Sea: Writing a New Chapter in Zhejiang's Ethics Career", Chen Shoucan briefly reviewed the work achievements of the Zhejiang Ethics Society in the past year. He pointed out that the society adheres to the concept of "establishing the association in academics, governing the association in institutional institutions, and developing the association in openness", and comprehensively optimizes the governance system and operating mechanism; at the same time, it strengthens the leadership of party building and deeply cultivates the ethical sentiment of the "red roots"; based in Zhejiang, it continues to deepen academic exchanges and ethical practice. Looking to the future, Chen Shoucan emphasized that the Zhejiang Provincial Ethics Society will continue to build a matrix system of ethics research and serving the society based on academic research and social service, promote the mutual promotion and symbiosis of ethics and social development, inject ethics into Zhejiang's new era, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of ethics in Zhejiang and even the whole country.

At the meeting, the establishment award ceremony of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Ethics Branch of the Zhejiang Ethics Society was grandly held. President Chen Shoucan presented a plaque to Wang Xianghong, Secretary-General of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Ethics Branch. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Ethics Branch of Zhejiang Ethics Society will be established at Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This academic seminar is divided into keynote speeches and conference forums. In the keynote speech, Yang Yiqin, vice president of the Chinese Ethics Society and editor-in-chief of "Moral and Civilization" of Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, took the theme of "Principles of the Construction of Applied Ethics in the Artificial Intelligence Era", proposed that applied ethics in the era of artificial intelligence must follow the three principles of people-oriented, fairness and justice, and based on Chinese practice. It is necessary to uphold the truth and innovate, combine traditional culture, strengthen the global vision, and build a problem-oriented discipline system; Feng Haoqing, vice president of the Zhejiang Ethics Society and director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Zhejiang Normal University, said that weak AI is Moral education in the times faces challenges such as the replacement of traditional knowledge-based education, and also ushers in the opportunity to shift to the cultivation of innovative capabilities. Moral education needs to expand the research field, change the teaching and examination methods, and highlight the unity of knowledge and action; Chen Shoucan, president of the Zhejiang Ethics Society and dean of the Zhejiang Business Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology, pointed out with the title "The Turning of Zhejiang Studies in Traditional Chinese Ethics", pointing out that with the Song Dynasty moving south, the focus of Chinese traditional Confucianism has gone from Qi and Lu to Jiangnan. He said that the speeches of the six professors closely follow the theme of the conference to build an academic framework that supports theory, practice and region, and comprehensively focus on the core propositions of ethical research in the era of artificial intelligence and closely combine with the needs of Zhejiang practice, providing a clear path for subsequent academic exploration and practical promotion.
