The Beijing Consensus for Artificial Intelligence puts forward 15 principles that each participant should follow from the three aspects of artificial intelligence research and development, use and governance.

This consensus focuses on "serving people", and regards "harmony and optimized symbiosis" as a characteristic concept in Chinese philosophy and culture as the guiding ideology for seeking global collaboration across industries, departments and regions, and emphasizes the promotion of the "implementation" of relevant standards for artificial intelligence and create "responsible and beneficial" artificial intelligence for the future.

The release of this consensus provides a Beijing solution to standardize and lead artificial intelligence health, and is of great significance to realizing "self-discipline", "good governance" and "orderly" of artificial intelligence.

In order to reduce the possible technical risks and ethical hidden dangers in the development of artificial intelligence, Beijing Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute has also established an artificial intelligence ethics and security research center. Zeng Yi, a researcher at the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the director of the center. He said that the research center will conduct a series of research on theoretical exploration of artificial intelligence ethics and security, algorithm models, system platforms, industry applications, etc.

A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Science and Technology Commission said that responding to the challenges brought by artificial intelligence cannot be independently completed by one field, one city, one department or one institution. It is necessary to fully gather the forces of scientists, entrepreneurs, industrial alliances and all sectors of society, participate and work together, and continue to promote the transformation and application of academic research and results in the ethics and norms of artificial intelligence, and continuously strengthen industry self-discipline. The ethics and norms of artificial intelligence are the cornerstone of the development of the future intelligent society, and the release of the "Beijing Consensus for Artificial Intelligence" is a new beginning.
