Hello everyone! The title of the report today is
Hello everyone! The title of the report today is "Ask Artificial Intelligence: From Cambridge to Beijing", which is also the name of my new book. From October 2013 to September 2019, I have been thinking a lot in this book. This book has been written for almost seven years.
Why have many teachers raised questions about future artificial intelligence just now? This is because artificial intelligence is far from meeting everyone's expectations. The AI we see now is automation or advanced automation in a sense. So what is the difference between intelligence and automation? Automation is like this, fixed inputs and desirable outputs. For example, many production lines are automated production lines, but intelligence is not like this. The inputs can be fixed or not fixed, but the output must be unexpected, and most of them are unexpected and unexpected things. This is intelligence. What is intelligence? There are two statements: the first statement Mencius wrote, "The wise are the heart of right and wrong." The heart of right and wrong is "wisdom". You can have consciousness, but you may not necessarily have intelligence. Consciousness has nothing to do with right and wrong, but intelligence requires knowing right and wrong and understanding ethics. According to my research, ethics and intelligence should be the same thing. What is ethics? From the perspective of ancient Greece, ethics is classification, and the principle of classification is ethics; everyone pays attention to the essence of intelligence is also classification - the mind of right and wrong. Today's topic is very interesting. You can check the relevant documents, especially those from ancient Greece. They regard ethics as the principle of classification. Do people and people have morality and ethics? What is morality? Tao is the avenue for walking. What is virtue? get. Walking on the right path and getting what you want is called morality. If you don’t follow the right path, there is no morality. What is benevolence? Confucius' benevolence is a stroke and a stroke - a person, and the word "fake" is connected to that person. What is righteousness? Righteousness means right, Mencius’s special lectures on justice and righteousness. This is probably the common junction between Eastern and Western intelligence.
"Ask Artificial Intelligence: From Cambridge to Beijing" is my fourth book. The first three are mainly written for professional title evaluation. This book is what I want to write, and I really have a feeling. I saved up 6 or 7 years to write this book, but after I finished writing it, I didn't achieve my goal. The earliest version was called "Cambridge Miscellaneous Thoughts" and invested in a famous literary publishing house. Later, I asked me for the publishing fee, but I said there was no publishing fee. He asked me for the money, but I couldn't accept it, so I invested in the Science Publishing House. After seeing it, the president of Hou Junlin said that this book is so good. A book that combines technology and people. He said that it is okay to publish in our place? I said yes, and he also gave me the royalties. The manuscript changed a lot after that. He and Zhang Li always asked me to modify it. As a result, my original manuscript only retained more than 2,000 words, and most of it became some other thoughts and another book, "Ask Artificial Intelligence: From Cambridge to Beijing". What does this book mainly discuss? First, what is intelligence? Second, where does the essence of intelligence come from? I have added three parts.
A teacher just listed some celebrities in the intelligence world, and I also listed some celebrities in the intelligence world. Below are Easterners and above are Westerners. There are a few of these people: the first is Hume, which is the root of the origin of intelligent philosophy. Hume’s question is whether values can be derived from facts. This is a very important point of view of Hume. I believe that this may be a breakthrough point for strengthening artificial intelligence in the future and the key to human-computer fusion intelligence. The second is Leibniz, the source of intelligent science. He first proposed "universal language" and "rational calculations". Based on these two words, Frege proposed the term "content" in analytical philosophy. Later, Boolean appeared, and Boolean algebra evolved from Leibniz's thoughts. Later, Turing and von Neumann both extended from this... The real technology origin was Leibniz. If it was a bit far-fetched, then everyone knew Turing. In fact, Turing's teacher and friend were Wittgenstein, who was a very powerful person. He has several legends: the first legend is Hitler classmate, he has Jewish descent, their family is the king of steel in Europe, but he loves analytical philosophy. Second, his students and friends were Turing. He gave Turing a lot of good intelligence and philosophical thoughts, but many people rarely know him. This is a very regrettable and a regret in the artificial intelligence community. It is impossible not to mention him. There are two books in his life: the first book is translated into Chinese with only a few dozen pages "Logistic Philosophy Theory". In this book, people's language is about prying open the entry point of the relationship between people and people, and the world. Standardized social language is very important, that is, according to the rule grammar, you can understand the world in a sentence; when he was in his 40s, he returned to Cambridge, and he wrote some manuscripts. Later, one of his female student Anscombe compiled the second book for him called "Philosophical Research". This book is not thick, and translated into one or two hundred pages in Chinese. He denied the idea of the first book, believing that the most important entry point for truly understanding human intelligence is naturalized and life-oriented language, such as the ungrammatical dialogue between people in the market. These two books are the philosophical basis of weak artificial intelligence and strong artificial intelligence. The first book is about logic and philosophy, while the second book involves philosophical research and has no logic. Really strong artificial intelligence is definitely not all logic. Only logic is it all automation, it is all regular things, irrational things, that is what is heart-wrenching, and it is what human wisdom is. People like Hume, Leibniz, Wittgenstein are the real source of intelligence. I wrote about it in the WeChat public account "Human-Computer and Cognitive Laboratory" a few days ago.
The Eastern thought started with the Book of Changes. The Book of Changes is very good. China only has Eastern thoughts, and the West does not recognize that the East has philosophy. There are few logical things in Eastern thoughts, but only fruitful things. It was Fuxi, who began to write the Book of Changes when he saw the changes in the four seasons. The second author of the Book of Changes was King Wen of Zhou - King Wen was imprisoned and performed the Zhou Yi. King Wen puts social management in the Book of Changes, and puts it in social management in addition to nature. The third author of the Book of Changes was Confucius, who puts the ethics between people into the Book of Changes. The Book of Changes was written by these three people. There are three words and six words in the "Book of Changes" that are the core of human wisdom: the first word is "know how many", which means seeing signs and signs of the development of things, the second word is "interesting time", which means seizing the opportunity in time, and the third word is "flexible", which means adapting to changes and changing according to the times. Are there these things in smart products now? What are the signs, what seize the opportunity, and what adaptability, you can see that most of them are automation. The second book is Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching". The first sentence may be the most important sentence in intelligence: "Tao can be told very well, and names can be called very well." Lao Tzu's "name" involves the first stage of intelligence - the input representation stage. In the West, it is called expression and representation. A thing has ten thousand representations, a flower and a world, a tree and a Bodhi. People can represent a thing in many aspects, but it is very bad in the knowledge graph. The objects, attributes, and relationships of the knowledge graph are dead. It is a world of labels. When a living knowledge graph appears, there is no boundary yet, because the existing representation methods cannot solve this problem. The "Tao" in Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching" includes algorithms. Algorithms are not simply mathematical calculation methods, but also include non-logical calculation methods for humans. This is a unique intuition.
Let me briefly introduce these gentlemen that Mr. Jin Yuelin studied Western philosophy and did a good job in logic. This is Mr. Hua Luogeng. Without Mr. Hua, there would be no Chinese computers and Chinese artificial intelligence. He proposed it when he first proposed to track new technologies in the world to make computers. At that time, Chiang Kai-shek sent Hua Lao to the United States to learn advanced technology, and Feng Neumann worked as a computer. After seeing the computer computing power, Hua Lao insisted that China would do it too. As a result, Chiang Kai-shek went to Taiwan and the Communist Party came. After returning to China, Hua Lao found several people at Tsinghua University and built the Institute of Computing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The earliest computer in China is still at Qufu Normal University. When you go to the Confucius Temple in Confucius Mansion, you can check it out. The machine is still alive. If you want to follow the roots, you can follow Mr. Hua. When doing knowledge, you must dig the roots and find the true roots to grow up. Otherwise, you will follow the crowd and follow the crowd. What is the scientific origin of intelligence? What is the philosophical origin of intelligence? What is the origin of technology? It was not in 1956, but in 1956 it was a superficial phenomenon. According to a friend's research, it was not proposed by those from Dartmouth College. It was a British mathematician who wrote a letter to tell the person that those people used AI. The country is a little confused about this. It has not learned the source yet. Only by chasing the most fundamental place can China produce real intelligence. Especially for ancient China's very good oriental ideas and a large amount of intelligence, the digging is far from enough. Only seeing some people who make commodities and systems is not like this. It is coping, and it is making money. Only when it is not just for making money, China's artificial intelligence can thrive. China needs people who do not make money. When we are young, we cannot just make money with a few big projects, otherwise it will be difficult for you to do something.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences automates all young men to prevent and treat depression. I told him that it is necessary to study depression. Many universities have jumped off buildings every year, which is a considerable loss to individuals, families and countries. However, if you don’t deal with doctors and patients, just chat with a few people in the research institute, and draw a scale according to the online information, it is purely a scam. You have to start with Freud and truly rise to the level of human beings to do it, so that you can do some work and make some valuable contributions to society! The reason why the West is ahead of us in science and technology is because many people in the West do not care about utilitarian thinking and research. If a country does not have the public who are serious and down-to-earth, and just conducts formalization, this country will definitely be ruined.
Actually, you must pay attention. I spent a year in Cambridge and I found that many Cambridge students were different. They often thought deeply about what they like to do and did it to the extreme. For example, Darwin, who was a poor student in the Christian Academy and later became a big bull in the biological world. Now that everyone has solved the problem of food, clothing, housing and transportation, they should calm down and think about it. I hope everyone will not think too much now. There is no end to pursuing wealth, and wealth is just an accessory. My report is probably the end, thank you everyone! I hope I will give you advice if there is any inappropriateness! !
Intelligence cannot tell us what intelligence is.
But we can feel her
