Focus today
On September 8, 2018, the fourth meeting of the Sixth Science Ethics Construction Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences approved the launch meeting of the "Artificial Intelligence Ethics Research" project and the artificial intelligence ethics, policy and law forum were held at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project leader Tan Tieniu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the executive chairman of the conference, and Zhang Zhaoxiang, researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the academic secretary. The project launch meeting and forum are sponsored by the Science Ethics Construction Committee of the Academic College of Chinese Academy of Sciences and hosted by the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Su Ronghui, deputy director of the Department of the Academic Affairs Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered an opening speech at the launch meeting, and Academician Tan Tieniu gave an introduction to the project "Research on Artificial Intelligence Ethics". During the forum, Cheng Sumei, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Hu Jian, a researcher at the Center for Soft Power Research of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, and Guo Rui, an associate professor at the School of Law of Renmin University of China, gave special reports. More than 20 project backbones participated in the project launch meeting, and more than 300 experts and scholars from more than 190 colleges, research institutions, and enterprises participated in the research and discussion forum.

my country's research on ethics and risk management in the field of artificial intelligence is not in line with the stage of technological development
Academician Tan Tieniu introduced the project establishment background and significance, research goals and content, research foundation and support, research progress and plan. It is emphasized that compared with developed countries in science and technology, my country still lags behind the international level in research on ethical issues in the field of artificial intelligence. This lag situation is not in line with the development stage of artificial intelligence technology in my country at this stage, and may become a major constraint on the development of artificial intelligence technology in my country.
As a consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Research Project will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on the future society, sort out the ethical issues that artificial intelligence may arise, explore the communication mechanism of artificial intelligence ethical issues, and put forward suggestions on dealing with artificial intelligence ethical issues.

Deeply sort out the ethical issues that artificial intelligence may cause
In order to deeply sort out the ethical issues that artificial intelligence may cause, this launch meeting held the "Artificial Intelligence Ethics, Policy and Law Forum", hosted by Xu Bo, Director of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Researcher Cheng Sumei gave a report on "Top Ten Philosophical Challenges of Intelligent Society", which analyzed the challenges of artificial intelligence to concepts, thinking modes, legal ethics and society, life management, body concepts, self-concepts, labor and leisure concepts, technology concepts, epistemology and responsibility concepts from a philosophical perspective.

Researcher Hu Jian wrote "Artificial Intelligence and Society" and discussed four questions: Who am I? Who is AI; what can I do? What can AI do? What is my relationship with AI artificial intelligence? Did I control the robot, or did artificial intelligence control me; how do we coordinate the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence?
Researcher Hu Jian delivered a report on "Artificial Intelligence and Society"
Associate Professor Guo Rui wrote "Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence", combining some behavioral cases to discuss the challenges brought about by the development of artificial intelligence from a legal level.

At the same time, the forum held a special seminar on "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence Development on Future Society", aiming to more comprehensively and systematically sort out the ethical problems brought about by my country's artificial intelligence technology and reveal the reasons for the problems.
The seminar was chaired by Zhang Zhaoxiang, a researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and invited natural science experts and experts from humanities and social sciences to serve as the forum guests, including Li Zhenzhen, a researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cheng Sumei, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Hu Jian, a researcher at the Center for Soft Power Research of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Huang Tiejun, a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Peking University, Wang Guoyu, a professor at the School of Philosophy of Fudan University, Wu Fei of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Zhejiang University, and Guo Rui, an associate professor at the School of Law of Renmin University of China.
The seminar discussed the pros and cons of artificial intelligence to the current human society; will the future of artificial intelligence become universal or dedicated? Can general artificial intelligence be implemented? How to determine the responsibility of artificial intelligence? How to ensure the healthy development of artificial intelligence? Should robots have rights? How can my country regulate the development of artificial intelligence at the government and legal level?

With the situation where artificial intelligence has become a national strategy, carrying out artificial intelligence ethics research has far-reaching strategic significance for the healthy and sustainable development of artificial intelligence and the future of my country's artificial intelligence.
: is a process of finding motion vectors between images. The so-called motion vector can be understood as a transformation from image A to image B. The motion vector may involve an entire image (global motion estimation) or a specific part of the image, such as a rectangular area, an arbitrary shape area, or even a single pixel.
