(Two Sessions Express) Member Li Yanhong: Artificial intelligence ethics will be the cornerstone of the development of the future intelligent society
China News Service, Beijing, March 10 (Xia Shouzhi) Li Yanhong, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman and CEO of Baidu, said in Beijing on the 10th that artificial intelligence ethics will be the cornerstone of the development of the future intelligent society. Only by establishing complete artificial intelligence ethical norms and handling the new relationship between machines and humans can we obtain more artificial intelligence dividends and let technology benefit mankind.
The third plenary session of the Second Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People on the same day. Robin Li made a speech at the conference.
He mentioned that with the widespread use of artificial intelligence in the fields of food, clothing, housing and transportation, personal identity information and behavioral data may be integrated. If used improperly, it may cause privacy and data leakage. How to better solve ethical-related issues requires early consideration and layout.
He pointed out that China's research and development and application of artificial intelligence technology are in the leading position in the international market, but the discussion on artificial intelligence ethics has just begun, and there is relatively little international cooperation involved, and no broad consensus has been formed.
To this end, Robin Li made three suggestions.
First, clarify the ethical principles of artificial intelligence. Coordinate the forces of all parties, strengthen relevant research, take the people's better lives as the ultimate goal, take the innovative development of the industry, clarify the ethical principles of artificial intelligence in terms of security, privacy, fairness, etc., and formulate guiding documents on artificial intelligence ethics.
The second is to strengthen the responsibility of leading enterprises and accelerate the implementation of the ethical principles of artificial intelligence. In hot fields such as information recommendation, autonomous driving, and virtual reality, promote enterprise leadership and demonstration, and implement the ethical principles of artificial intelligence in product design and business operations.
The third is to strengthen international exchanges, lead the development of the industry, and build global consensus. Actively participate in the research and formulation of global artificial intelligence ethical principles, identify forbidden zones as early as possible, and absorb and promote the essence of China's excellent traditional culture such as "people-oriented".
